The fabulous Geoff Simmons and Summerstown 182 project have announced that they will be hosting their next event on October 16.

A blue plaque will be unveiled to remember the great Tooting Music Centre (known as TMC Studios) and some of the great musicians who played there.

The studio has now been replaced by Mixed Blessings West Indian Bakery - and this is where the plaque will be unveiled.

There will also be a black history walk hosted beforehand to celebrate Black History Month.

Tooting's weather

It's the first day of October and it really feels like it.

You're probably looking outside to a soggy Tooting, and you can expect rain to fall into the early afternoon.

BBC Weather says: "it will start cloudy with a band of rain pushing south-eastwards. Rain should largely clear during the afternoon to leave sunshine, but patches of cloud and the odd spot of rain may linger."

Despite the wet weather, there will be highs of 17 degrees, but the nights are starting to get colder and you can expect lows of 8 degrees.

Pollution: Low

UV: Low

Traffic and travel

Traffic is slow across Tooting, as per the AA's traffic news . There looks to be seriously slow traffic around both train stations, however, nothing too far away from the ordinary at rush hour in Tooting.

There has also been a heavy rain warning on the AA near the BP petrol station, first reported at 6.38am.

It says: "Heavy rain on Glenburnie Road both ways at A214 Trinity Road."

The Northern line is running without delays.
