Tooting resident and long-time poppy seller celebrates 100th birthday

Bill Champion, a Tooting resident who has been selling poppies for over 25 years, turned 100 last week.

Mr Champion has lived in Tooting for over 65 years.

He celebrated his 100th birthday on Tuesday 9th March.

Mr Champion has four children and spends his free time gardening and fishing.

Over the years Bill has turned into a bit of a Tooting celebrity.

Back in 2015, the above photo of Bill fundraising went viral on Facebook, achieving over 100,000 shares all across the world.
