The new temporary toilets on Tooting Common have been vandalised with graffiti.

More toilets were added to the common after residents and local organisations called for more facilities in the lead up to summer.

A council spokesperson told Nub News that they have not 'set a deadline' for how long the temporary toilets will be in operation.

They added that they 'will keep the situation under review'.

Hannah Stanislaus, labour candidate for Bedford ward by-election, reacted to the :

"Can you move these to a location nearer to the playground or picnic area please?

"Even better, perhaps permanent public toilets?"

Wandsworth Council and Enable Parks have been approached for comment.

The council previously told Nub News they were 'assessing ways' to 'increase provision' on the common after issues of human excrement were brought to their attention.

Peter Ramsell, a member of FOTC, said: "We (FOTC) are glad that the Council and Enable have installed these - a point we have been raising for some time."

The toilets are situated on the side of Dr Johnson's Avenue near the zebra crossing.
