Tooting Market were forced to take drastic measures this weekend to deter groups of people gathering outside the establishment.
Residents noticed that there were a large number of people gathering outside the back of the market on Friday evening.
The Market says they banned the sale of takeaway alcohol from all of its traders as soon as they were made aware of the situation.
Marketing Manager of Tooting Market, Baron Deschauer, told Nub News:
"We take this matter very seriously.
"All traders are aware of the current restrictions and we are vigilant in ensuring compliance.
"To that end, additional security were brought in over the weekend and all pint sales were halted until further notice."
The sale of alcohol will remain banned for the rest of the lockdown period.
The Market previously called for support from the community to get through what they called an 'incredibly challenging year'.
Tooting Market has been able to remain open throughout the entirety of the second lockdown.
All eateries have remained open for for takeaway and delivery, and retailers have operated on a click/call and collection basis.
