Tier 3 Tooting: Hospitality to take another blow as pubs and restaurants forced to close again

Tooting's hospitality industry will be taking yet another blow as Tier 3 restrictions commence at midnight tonight.
Since the UK's first lockdown back in March, restaurants and pubs have been at the brunt of economic damage as government regulations have left them without customers.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the news of Tier 3 was "incredibly disappointing for businesses, who have suffered so much already."
Hospitality establishments have had to constantly adapt to changing rules in order to stay afloat and inline with safety laws.

Adapting isn't always easy
Many restaurants and pubs have had to amend their business to focus on takeaway sales.
Eateries in Tooting Market and Broadway Market, The Little Taperia, Unwined, Goldfinch, Craft Tooting and many others have brilliant takeaway services and systems in place.
This unfortunately isn't the case for every establishment and smaller independent spots are not always able to do this.
The Ramble Inn, situated on Mitcham Road, have only been able to open for a few weeks before they close again tonight.
The twenty-two year old pub managed to implement food into their menu but do not currently offer takeaway services.
What can we do to support our local pubs and restaurants?
The obvious answer is to treat yourself to a takeaway service one of your favourite establishments is offering throughout Tier 3.
For those that can not offer takeaway, it's important to plan to the future and visit your local (Covid-securely) once things open up again.
Manager of The Selkirk, Ben Ashcroft, wrote on Twitter yesterday evening:
"All we can ask is get to your local in the next 36 hours (and be kind to the staff).
"And then when January hits and we re-open, have the mother of all nights out ..... We'll all need it."
A spokesperson for King's Head Tooting said:
"Once again we thank you for spending your time with us in this difficult times. As soon as we are allowed we will be back open with our smiling faces."
