The Selkirk, situated on Selkrik Road, has been adapting the way they run their establishment on the fly all the way through the pandemic.

The popular Tooting pub says that they will be operating their business through lockdown with community as the key focus.

How is The Selkirk adapting to the second lockdown?

The Selkirk will start offering takeaway roast dinners every Sunday. These will be available to order online.

This will continue to expand and grow every week as lockdown goes on, with community at the forefront.

The Selkirk is also looking at providing 'dinner packages', which will offer fresh produce to create meals at home.

Ben Ashcroft, manager of The Selkirk, told Nub News:

"In times like these, we need to support each other.

"We hope that the community tunes into local business and initiatives, it will be very easy for the supermarkets to completely take over.

"Our ethos has always been about supporting the community around us."

The Selkirk, like many establishments in the area, have had to adapt to the ever-changing rules and regulations by the government.

In a response to the government's 'rule of six', the pub installed new outside heaters and expanded their seating area.

"We're always thinking to the future, and will continue to do so as things progress," Ben added.

In the second lockdown, deliveries and takeaways will be allowed, but sales of alcohol won't be permitted.

The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) is calling for this restriction to be lifted.

SIBA held discussions with ministers and departments over the weekend to clarify certain points of the measures.

The Selkirk says they will keep an eye on the restrictions and adapt their services accordingly.
