Tooting speed baking and dating: All you need to know

There are still spaces available for a speed dating/baking event this evening (June 22) in Tooting .

Single and fancy yourself as a bit of a baker? Well, this surely must be the best place to show off your skills. This speed baking event is running at The Big London Bake (through the garden of The Castle, 38 Tooting High St) from 6.30pm until 8.30pm, at which point the 'post-socialising' begins. And no, that's not a euphemism.

Tonight's event will be just for the ages of 24-38.

Sure, if you don't know how to bake this might sound like some kind of awful anxiety dream, but don't worry, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry won't be there to embarrass you on national television - it'll just be a girl or boy you fancy instead. And anyway, it's always the bad baking which gets the most laughs.

According to the website, there are just the last few tickets available for both men and women at a reduced fee of £30, so head to the SpeedDater website to grab your tickets before they sell out.

What to expect

On arrival, you will meet the host and the other guests at The Castle Pub for a drink before heading into the tent.

Once in the tent, The Big London Bake team will take over and share with you what you will be baking.

You will have a professional baker on hand and all the ingredients and instructions you could need to create your masterpiece. Remember this will also be a competition too!

To ensure everyone gets a chance to meet, all the women stay stationed at their workspace while the men move around every 5 minutes and assist them with their baking.

And after the event?

The day after your speed dating event, you can log in to the SpeedDater website and click the 'matches' tab.

You will be able to contact anyone from the event via the SpeedDater messaging system.

You can find more about The Big London Bake by going to its website.
