Tooting: Man, 55, to appear in court following allegation of rape by woman, 70, on Church Lane

A 55-year-old man will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today following a rape allegation made by a 70-year-old woman.

Anthony Hurley has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault following an incident on Church Lane on August 10.

Hurley lives in Sidcup, the Met Police confirmed.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Anthony Hurley – 55 (05.08.66) of Leechcroft Avenue, Sidcup will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on 18 August charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

"This follows a police investigation into an allegation of rape made by a 70-year-old woman that took place in Church Lane, SW17 on 10 August."
