Earlsfield Police have called estate sweeps 'paramount' after discovering a number of knives hidden away in bushes.

Earlsfield and Nightingale police teams conducted an estate sweep of Kingham Close and Whitehead Close yesterday (August 18) and found the items which are within the picture.

Tweeting about the incident, the Earlsfield Police account described the knives as "horrid" and suggested finding knives such as the importance of estate sweeps.

A tweet from Earlsfield Police reads : "EF SNT officers and @MPSNightingale conducted an estate sweep of Kingham close and Whitehead close SW18 only to find these horrid knives hidden away in bushes. The importance of estate sweeps is paramount. #notonourstreets #saynotoknives @MPSWandsworth.
