Tooting: Fishponds opening hours to extend into autumn months

Tooting Fishponds playing fields will be staying open to the public for longer than originally planned.
While the playing fields are unlikely to be open for the same amount of time (the plans are still being finalised), part of the activity programme which has been available for both children and adults is set to continue throughout the autumn, as Tooting Newsie announced on Instagram.
The playing fields, which used to be shut to the public unless they opened for recreational sports use, have been open from 10am until 6pm during the summer holidays, with a summer activity programme going on for local residents.
While the opening hours will not be as long in the weekdays, they will be open all day on weekends and during school holidays.
The opening hours are set to change from September 4 onwards, with them being open during exercise classes in the week. These will also be tied to when school drop-offs are to make them more accessible for parents.
These will include (still yet to be confirmed):
- Bootcamp: Monday & Friday mornings from 9:30am-10:30am
- Couch to 5K: Wednesday 9:30am-10:30am
- Zumba: Wednesday 10:30am-11:30am
The popular Kids Multi-Sport Drop In will continue on Saturday mornings from 10am-11:30am and during half term there will be an activity programme.
