The demolishing of four buildings at St George's Hospital will begin this month.
The work is part of a five-year strategy to continue to deliver 'outstanding care'.
The hospital has said they will make effort to ensure disruption is kept to 'an absolute minimum'.
The buildings being demolished are Knightsbridge Wing, Clare House, Bronte House and Blackshaw Annexe - all of which have been disused for a number of years.
The demolition is hoped to be completed by March.
A spokesperson for St George's Hospital said: "For the duration of the demolition works, and to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, staff and local residents, the sites will be fully enclosed by secure hoardings, and the buildings themselves fully enclosed by a scaffolding screen.
"Whilst the works are being carried out, our contractors will ensure noise is kept to an absolute minimum by installing noise monitors around the perimeter of the site.
"These monitors continuously record the levels of noise being produced in real time, and will alert the contractor if the agreed noise levels are exceeded."
The single-storey Blackshaw Annexe, constructed in 2014 for essential office accommodation, will be removed to make way for a new three-storey building.
The new modular building will provide more office space for staff, and also free up space within the main hospital for clinical activity, and the delivery of key patient services.
