A brand-new plant-based Caribbean takeaway has launched in Tooting.

Jam Delish serves an original 100% vegan menu, without compromising on any Caribbean flavours.

Owner, Jordan Johnson, grew up in Tooting and made the decision to go vegan with his sister many years ago.

Since the move from meat-eating, Jordan and his sister missed the authentic Caribbean dishes from their heritage.

Jordan said: "We started experimenting and have managed to create vegan versions of our favourite Caribbean meals over the years - and in all honesty, you wouldn't know the difference."

"The recipes have been perfected so much over the years that my vegan and meat-eater friends alike just can't get enough."

This led to the launch of Jam Delish with the mission of showing there is no need to compromise on quality and taste when choosing to eat vegan.

Some of the authentically tasting plant-based dishes include:

•  Jerk 'Chicken Wings' on the 'bone' - A thin tofu wrap surrounds the Jerk marinaded seitan & soya based 'chicken wings', encasing a Sugar Cane skewer giving an authentic 'chicken wing' experience by eating them 'off the bone' whilst remaining 100% plant-based.

Curry 'Goat' - Jam Delish have created their own vegan version of 'goat meat' which is then slow-cooked with fresh seasonal vegetables, and infused with the traditional Caribbean flavours of garlic, ginger, scallions, thyme and scotch bonnets to give that authentic curry "goat" taste.

Ackee and 'Codfish' - A staple Caribbean classic that is gently slow-cooked with Ackee, their vegan version of 'codfish', scallions, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers and scotch bonnets, and infused with hearty Caribbean spices.

Caribbean Curry 'Prawns' – A 'seafood' dish with big bold flavours – large and juicy 'prawns' are simmered with crunchy peppers in a creamy coconut sauce, infused with garlic, thyme, ginger, scotch bonnets and curry spice.

In addition to their traditional Caribbean dishes Jam Delish also offer vegan 'Bacon' Mac N' Cheese and Chicken Salt Fries.

Desserts are also on the menu - with popular vegan Biscoff and Oreo cheesecakes – but Jam Delish has advised speedy ordering as these sell out every week.

Jordan added: "We love to meet new people so come down and say hi and pick up your delicious takeaway from our Tooting kitchen, or get your dishes delivered to your door via Deliveroo and Uber Eats."
