Mysterious noise in Tooting continues to baffle residents

A mysterious noise is continuing to baffle residents around Tooting.

Hearers of the noise have been describing intermittent 'high pitched' and 'low pitched' sounds at random parts of the day.

Nub News previously reported on the noise last week.

Many different causes have been discussed around the community but no one has been able to pinpoint a decided answer.

Some people have been putting it down to the air conditioning at St George's Hospital.

Another theory is that it's a drone, although some residents say they've heard the noise on and off for over ten years.

In an email to Nub News, a Wandsworth resident said: "I hear this high-pitched noise every day and night and I live in Wandsworth back of army base.

"It's so loud and very annoying and scary."

A Tooting resident wrote on social media: "Has anyone been hearing an intermittent high pitched noise in the Tooting Broadway/rail area near Longley road?

"I've heard it twice so far opened the window and it sounded like a high pitch noise from a car."

What do you think it could be?
