What is that noise? Tooting residents hear mysterious 'low-level hum' in the night
A Tooting road has complained about a mysterious sound throughout the night which can't be traced.
The bass-like noise reportedly occurs at random times in short and long bursts.
The sound is reminiscent of the strange case of the 'Bristol hum' - Bristolians have consistently complained about being plagued by a 'mysterious low-level hum' that can not be traced.
Residents of Chasefield Road, Tooting, are torn on the noise.
Some say they've heard the sound, with some hearing for years, while some claim to have never heard it.
One resident said: "No one else here can hear it so I finally thought I was hearing things. No idea what it is?"
Another resident suggested: "Could it be a generator from the big building site on Upper Tooting Road?
"We used to hear a weird hum from the top windows in summer but that may have been the Plough Lane development or even air con at St George's."
Have you heard the noise? Do you have an idea of what it could be?
