A collision on Tooting High Street has caused the road to be shut in both directions.

The road is currently closed to traffic between Mitcham Road and Woodbury Street, as police cars and ambulances arrive at the scene.

While the incident is near Tooting Broadway underground, the station is open as usual.

Online traffic service Jambuster has posted about the incident, telling road users to use an alternative route.

It says: "A24 Tooting High Street (SW17) (Both Directions) between Mitcham Road and Woodbury Street - the road is closed following a collision. .

"Use an alternative route. Traffic is slow moving in both directions.

The Met Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information about the incident.
