Volunteers are needed to offer support and friendship to someone with a learning disability and/or autism.
Share, founded in 1972, is a Wandsworth Borough based community which works with disabled people who need extra help and support in order to achieve their potential and realise their dreams and aspirations.
The role of a volunteer Befriender will involve meeting clients outside of their homes, and going out locally together to do an activity of the client's choice.
This could be going for a walk, getting a cup of tea and cake, cycling around the park or helping with grocery shopping.
The volunteer will be matched with one or two of Share's clients and meet them each week.
You'll support people to maintain positive mental health and encourage communication on meaningful topics or shared interests, helping to promote positive outlooks and raised confidence.
