After we started to get a real taste for the sun early in June, the familiar feeling of rain in the summer was back for Tooting residents.
However, will we see a return to sunshine, suntans and ice creams in the week ahead? Short answer: not really.
The following week will bring you everything you can expect from an English summer: a bit of sunshine, a bit more rain and plenty of clouds.
One positive is that it can't get much worse than Monday, which is set to bring some heavy rain throughout the day. Tuesday looks to be cloudy, and Wednesday morning is the time you want to be running for the ice cream van, with that being the only time this week that has genuine sunshine forecasted. Hooray!
Here is the forecast for Monday 21st June - Sunday 27th June.
Monday (June 21):
Cloudy throughout Monday with heavy showers continuing to push northwards. Showers becoming lighter late afternoon but staying cloudy. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tuesday (June 22) to Thursday (June 24):
Scattered cloud on Tuesday, sunny in the evening followed by a cool night. Starting sunny on Wednesday but turning cloudy from the west during the afternoon. Cloudy with showers Thursday.
Friday (June 25) to Sunday (June 27):
Friday will see generally average temperatures, and a band of cloud and rain throughout the day; drier, sunnier conditions to be expected further. Then, predominantly dry weather is likely for most. Winds are most likely remaining light to moderate throughout, with temperatures hovering at or slightly above average for the time of year.
This forecast has been taken from the Met Office website and is subject to change.
