Tooting restaurant projected to give away 2500 free lunches this week

A Tooting restaurant that is giving away free school lunches to children has confirmed they have had a very successful first two days.
Meat and Shake, based on Upper Tooting Road, gave away 90 free meals to school children on the first day of half term.
The restaurant says they are projecting to give away 2500 free school lunches over the week.
Usama Siddique, owner of Meat and Shake, has been tweeting out his plans over the half term - two of these have been retweeted by Marcus Rashford to his 3 million followers.
As well as this, Meat and Shake was tweeted and praised by Labour MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan.
The restaurant has also extended its offerings to any child from a family facing hardship, with no questions asked.
Meat and Shake say they will continue to offer this over every half term and Christmas period.
Usama Siddique, the owner of Meat and Shake, previously told Nub News: "I am humbled and privileged to be in a position to put something back into the community.
"It's a humbling experience, nourishment for my soul."
Usama says he is expecting a large turn out across the weekend.
Meat and Shake will also be feeding the homeless twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday (10 - 10:30) - this will continue into next year.
