List of Tooting businesses offering lunches to children who need it during half term

Social campaigner and Premier League striker Marcus Rashford's campaign to provide food for hungry school children, who would otherwise go without, during the forthcoming half-term break, has captured the hearts of the country.

The Manchester United and England striker star admitted he was 'blown away' by the outpouring of support from the country.

Sharing the efforts of businesses and individuals around the world on Twitter, Tooting Nub News' story on Meat and Shake was retweeted by Marcus to his three million followers.

We have compiled a list of all the places in Tooting offering free meals to children this half term:

Bordelaise

Bordelaise, a popular French restaurant in Tooting Broadway Market, will be offering free school lunches throughout half term.

Bordelaise will be offering steak, fish, and pasta options with a side of fries, green beans, and salad - all served with an ice-cream dessert.

Aleix Morales, co-owner of Bordelaise, told Nub News:

"We want to help as much as possible."

Meat and Shake

The popular Upper Tooting Road restaurant will offer free meals to anyone who asks for them from 12pm - 5pm.

Mr Siddique told Nub News: "It is payback time.

"I have told all of the staff to not turn anyone away and give meals to any child that wants one.

"We are a community and we need to stick together."

The offer is only available for dine-in eating and children must be accompanied by an adult (the adult does not need to buy anything).

Wandsworth Foodbank will help any family in the borough who need a bit of extra help this half term.

If you can't afford the food you need, you can call 0300 330 1169 (Mon-Fri 10am to 4pm).

Jam Delish

Jam Delish is offering free vegan meals to the children who need it.
