Another Tooting primary school will operate a 'School Street' from today (12th October).

Broadwater Primary School, situated on Broadwater Road, will run the scheme from 8:35am - 9:30am and 2:35pm - 3:45pm.

What is the School Streets Scheme?

A 'School Street' is when one or more roads near a school will close to allow pedestrians and cyclists to roam without cars passing through.

There is usually signage explaining to motorists - as well as volunteers acting as wardens to overlook the street.

A spokesperson for Wandsworth Council said: "By temporarily closing roads outside the school, we hope to create a safer, more pleasant environment in the area."
