Tooting & Mitcham United FC yesterday unveiled their new profile picture and updated equality statement in support of Football v Homophobia.
The FvH initiative was created in 2010 and aims to take a clear stand against homophobia and transphobia at all levels of football.
Nub News today caught up with Caroline McRoyall, Chair of Tooting & Mitcham, to speak about the importance of the campaign.
Caroline told Nub News:
"The new profile picture aims to demonstrate our support for Football v Homophobia during February their month of action."
"Usually, we would plan initiatives around a game, but as this is not possible we felt adapting our logo would be the best way to show our support and highlight that Tooting & Mitcham United FC is a welcoming place for LGBT+ people and that the club does not tolerate any form of discrimination.
"We would also like to add our thanks to Fellow Studio for helping us to create the rainbow version of our club badge."
