Tooting in Photos: The first evening in lockdown

5th Jan 2021 | Local News

These are photos from Tooting's first evening in the second national lockdown (Tuesday 5 January).

As the rain pours down, residents still go about their business - albeit in noticeably smaller numbers.

Tooting Market and Broadway Market feel fairly eery inside but Tooting Market's entrance remains bustling and vibrant.

Deliveroo riders still roam the streets and fill up McDonald's, KFC and so on.

Our large stores and buildings remain closed just like in Tier 4 - the iconic Bingo Hall stands unused and the once packed out three-floored Primark stays bolted up.

Tooting Broadway Station remains busy with commuters in rush hour.
