Four members of the South London Swimming Club based in Tooting Bec Lido will be attempting to swim from England to France next year.

The four cold water enthusiasts will be taking on the huge challenge in order to raise money for three charities.

Team named 'The Channel Crackers', the journey will be swam by the four members as a relay.

Lisa Peake, Lorraine Jeffcoat, Mick Hinde and Vanessa Cowie will be swapping the lido for the English Channel in July 2021.

All money raised will be split equally between three charities: Mind, Diabetes UK and Rare Dementia Support.

Writing on their fundraiser page, the team said: "Charities have had an incredibly difficult year, and we are pleased to be able to support these three incredibly important causes.

"Thank you for your support, we are really grateful for anything you can give."

The team have a target of £500 and have already raised over £240.
