Tooting Bec Lido: Europe's second-largest open-air freshwater swimming pool is reopening
With lockdown rules easing and sports and leisure facilities set to reopen the much-loved Tooting Bec Lido will be open to the public during the school Easter holidays.
The Lido will reopen its doors to swimmers on Monday (March 29).
People will need to pre-book their visit.
The council has said that it is 'important visitors continue to observe social distancing rules'.
Tooting Bec Lido is Europe's second-largest open-air freshwater swimming pool – measuring a colossal 91.5 metres in length.
Bookings can be made online via the lido website.
Labelled 'a south London treasure' by the Daily Telegraph it is one of only a handful of surviving open air swimming pools in London.
It has also previously been named by Time Out magazine as the best in place in the capital for 'uninterrupted swimming' and as the 'Best Outdoor Swim in London' in The London Pools Campaign's Golden Goggles Award.
Volunteers have been working hard to make sure the pool is ready for the public.
The main pool at the lido is currently open from 7am until 2pm.
For more information about the pool, admission prices and the Coronavirus restrictions in place for visitors visit their website.
