Tooting and Earlsfield residents urged to take part in Clean Air Day

Local News by The Editor 10th Jun 2021

Tooting and Earlsfield businesses and residents are being asked to take part in National Clean Air Day on June 17.

National Clean Air Day is about raising awareness of pollution issues, supporting people to reduce the amount of pollution they create and working together to improve air quality.

The theme of this year's Clean Air Day is 'protect our children's health'.

Residents are being urged to visit the Clean Air Day website where they can find out how to do their bit.

The council's spokesman on climate sustainability, Cllr Kim Caddy, said:

"Wandsworth is proud to support Clean Air Day again. I would ask businesses and residents to take a look at the Clean Air Day website, think about what they can do to reduce their carbon footprint, and get involved.

"We will shortly be putting our updated Air Quality Action Plan out for public consulation, setting out what the council is doing to improve air quality.

"I look forward to hearing everyone's views."
