Sarah Everard died from 'compression of the neck'

A post-mortem examination has revealed that Sarah Everard tragically died as a result of compression of the neck.

33-year-old Sarah Everard went missing on Wednesday 3 March while walking back to her home in Brixton from Clapham.

PC Wayne Couzens, 48, was arrested at his home in Deal, Kent and has now been charged with murder and kidnap.

It is understood that Ms Everard's family has been informed of the cause of death and are now being supported by specialist officers.

Mr Couzens remains in police custody with trial due to start on 25 October.
