Tooting and Balham residents have been warned after two males gained entrance to a property on Elmbourne Road.

A 'disturbed' Elmbourne Road resident says she witnessed two men enter her front door yesterday (12 May).

Her upstairs neighbour also had their bike stolen from their doorway the previous day (11 May).

Writing on social media, the resident said: "I live in Elmbourne Road and there is a few flats in our house.

"Yesterday morning my upstairs neighbour informed me that his bike was stolen from the doorway between 3-10pm on Tuesday.

"I was very surprised and disturbed by it and while in my living room around 2pm me and my husband noticed two men walking past our house and then going back to our front door.

"My husband made his way to the doorway in about 10 seconds and the males were already inside!

"One of them making his way upstairs and the other one waiting by front door, I guess watching.

"There was still one bike upstairs at the time so I think they with no fear came back next day to get it."

The men reportedly told the homeowner that they were looking for someone called Edward.

Another Elmbourne Road resident says they also saw two men trying to gain access to another property yesterday.

The police have been contacted for comment.
