Local police from Graveney ward have issued two Closure Orders at addresses in Tooting, barring two residents from entering the properties.

Granted by a magistrates' court on November 25, the Closure Orders are the latest in a string of intervention efforts by authorities to combat recurring anti-social behaviour at two addresses on Laurel Close in Tooting.

Earlier Closure Order applications granted for both addresses on February 17, 2021 and extended on May 12 were breached numerous times before expiring on August 12.

Despite Community Protection warnings, regular visits to the properties by police and the involvement of both social services and the local housing authority, the disorderly behaviour has persisted.

Posting to social media yesterday (Thursday, December 2), Wandsworth Police said: "While there were delays due to the pandemic, two full closure orders were finally granted on the 25th November for the two addresses on Laurel Close, Tooting.

"Two residents have been ordered by a court to no longer reside at these properties.

"We know this will be of huge relief to many neighbouring residents who were affected by these issues."

"We know anti-social behaviour can be hugely impactful. If you've been affected by similar issues your local policing team is there to help."
