An Italian restaurant in Tooting has said that the government's earlier curfew is another rule that will hurt their new business.

Situated on Mitcham Road, La Taverna di Toto says they want people to feel 'at home' during their visit without having to rush off.

The government has said that all restaurants, bars and pubs must close at ten pm.

Nick, cousin of owner Altin, told Nub News:

"It has not been easy to open a restaurant during this time.

"We want customers to be happy and we often see them liking to stay after dinner for a drink, this will get rid of that."

La Taverna di Toto has been decorated completely by the family, "we had a clear vision," Nick added.

The restaurant is currently offering all NHS staff 50% off their meal.
