A new episode of the Tooting-based award-winning documentary 24 Hours in A&E aired last night (16 Feb).

The episode from the twenty-third series continues to follow patients treated at St George's.

The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – a place where stories of life, love, and loss unfold every day.

This episode follows the story of a young boy with dreams of competing at the Olympics as well as a father's struggle to give his children a better upbringing than he had – both stories feature patients who have had to change their goals due to the hurdles and obstacles life presents.

31-year-old Lee is in resus having been thrown 6ft in the air when his motorbike collided with a car. His partner Laura talks of his difficult upbringing and his struggle to be a better role model for his children than his own father was to him.

We learn that Lee's injuries could threaten his livelihood and whether his relationship with Laura will stand the test of time.

13-year-old gold medalist Teigan is rushed to St George's having fallen from his BMX fracturing his pelvis. Teigan wants to compete at the Olympic Games and worries this injury could ruin his chances.

As Doctors work to determine if he needs an operation, we hear from his mother Donesha and how her dreams as a teenager were dashed following spinal surgery.
