Emergency services were rushed out yesterday afternoon (23rd November) after a man was reportedly hit by a train at Wimbledon station.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

"We were called at 4.31pm today (23 November) to reports of an incident at Wimbledon Station.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a team leader, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a car and our hazardous area response teams.

"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance trauma team.

"We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre."

Trains were disrupted into London until around 10pm last night.

Writing on Twitter, a spokesperson for South Western Railway said:

"Due to emergency services dealing with an incident, some lines are blocked between Clapham Junction and Raynes Park.

"Trains to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day."
