A man has been arrested for attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child in Wandsworth.

Police were called yesterday after reports of a male approaching children with offensive and obscene sexual questions.

The man is currently in custody.

This is not the first report of a sexual offence happening within Wandsworth Borough's parks in recent days. As we reported on Wednesday, a man had been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure on Wandsworth Common and the police continue to investigate the area.

Plain clothed police officers have also been patrolling the Wandsworth Common area.

A spokesperson for Wandsworth Police said: "Yesterday (7th Oct) we received a call to Wandsworth park about a male approaching children with offensive & obscene sexual questions.

"A male was arrested for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

"The male remains in custody. The investigation remains ongoing."
