Major incident at Tooting Broadway Station

A woman was taken to hospital today after suffering life-changing injuries by a train at Tooting Broadway station.

Paramedics were called at 11:09 this morning and the London Underground Station was shut this afternoon (Thursday January, 20).

The woman was rushed to a "major trauma centre as a priority" according to MyLondon.

Police were at the scene with traffic building up on Tooting High Street along Mitcham Road.

The bus lane on A24 Tooting High Street southbound was closed from A217 Mitcham Road due to the incident.

The tube station and roads have now reopened.
