A protest against the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill will be taking place in Tooting this weekend.

The bill has been met with strong opposing views on how it would give Police Chiefs stronger powers on restricting protests.

Wandsworth's Extinction Rebellion, Stand Up To Racism and Momentum groups have organised a local protest march to show their opposition to the bill.

The 'Kill the Bill' protest will begin on Sunday, 18th April at 1pm.

Protesters will be meeting at Bickley Street by The Antelope pub where they will march to Tooting Bec Common.

The organisers have said that the protest will be socially distanced and reminded everyone to wear a face mask.

The 'Kill the Bill' protests made mainstream news back in March when a planned demonstration turned violent in Bristol.

Speeches will be held on Tooting Bec Common at 1.30pm.

Over thirty other similar UK protests will take place over the weekend, including in Hyde Park on Saturday.
