Kings Head will remain open

Greene King today announced 79 pubs would be remaining closed with a third of them shutting permanently.

It has been confirmed to Tooting Nub News that Kings Head in Tooting Bec will remain open.

[H3] Kings Head recently raised £650 for Macmillan Cancer Support through a successful fundraising raffle.

A spokesperson for Greene King said:

"The continued tightening of the trading restrictions for pubs, which may last another six months, along with the changes to government support was always going to make it a challenge to reopen some of our pubs.

"Therefore, we have made the difficult decision not to reopen 79 sites, including the 11 Loch Fyne restaurants we announced last week.

"Around one-third will be closed permanently and we hope to be able to reopen the others in the future."

Why are Greene King pubs closing?

The pub chain said that the government's restrictions have made it hard to keep all of their establishments open.

Greene King said that the 10pm curfew and ending of the furlough scheme has made it a "challenge to reopen" some of their pubs.
