A Tooting pub which responded to online complaints about selling takeaway alcohol to residents has been thanked for its quick action.
The Rose and Crown pub faced complaints on social media which claimed their customers were gathering on nearby streets and adding to litter in Tooting Common.
While many residents felt the complaints were unjustified, the owner of the establishment addressed the issues raised and defended the pub's actions.
Now, the pub has been thanked for their quick cooperation with the community.
The pub has placed notices around their establishment to remind customers to be respectful of noise, litter and loitering.
The notice reads: "Please do not remain outside the pub drinking. The beverages sold at the Rose and Crown are for takeaway only and must be drunk off premises.
"The pavement and benches around the pub count as premises.
"Also, help the Rose and Crown and this wonderful community by throwing the rubbish in the bin, or giving it back to the pub."
A resident who had previously complained online, said: "Thank you for your action of placing lots of notices asking patrons to be respectful of noise, not sitting on benches and placing empties in bin."
Duane Betts, manager of The Rose and Crown, previously responded to the original complaints stating:
"I promise you that all the staff take their responsibilities to the community and customers very seriously.
"I and my staff are constantly outside asking people to respect the community and not drink near the premises. We cannot police the surrounding area."
