The doors have finally been opened on a newly-branded enterprise hub in Tooting, as the community got together to watch the ribbon cutting by Wandsworth Council's Leader.

A long-established business centre has re-launched their premises as Tooting Works, offering affordable co-working and office space rental at the heart of the local community.

A diverse range of over 80 businesses and organisations, including the NHS, are also based at the centre.

Previously named the Trident Business Centre, the complex lies just off Mitcham Road, a short walk from Tooting rail station and Tooting Broadway Tube station.

Wandsworth Council has said they will be funding the development of new co-working space, event space and an enterprise kitchen to look after start-ups and small businesses.

The improvements come following a £225,000 fund from Wandsworth Council's STRIDE partnership which looks to promote enterprise in tech and creative sectors across South London.

Graham Lodge, Financial Director at Beaver Pest Control, said: "All of our staff are very excited about the rebrand of Trident Business Centre.

"We have been based here since 2004 and have expanded from one office to three and have no reason to look anywhere else."

Tooting Works operates as a social enterprise, with all profits funding their youth charity.

Tooting Work's 'Business Launchpad' is a charity that aims to help London's youth build enterprise skills, overcome barriers and become leaders to set up their own business.

The Launchpad offers two years of free business support with dedicated business coaches, workshops, one to one sessions, tailored business programmes and business mentoring.

The Tooting Works business centre is located at 89 Bickersteth Road, Tooting, SW17 9SH.
