'The greed is ugly': Popular Tooting & Mitcham FC blog criticises new Super League

South London is Black & White, a popular blog written by Tooting and Mitcham United FC fans about the local club, has released a statement on the newly announced 'Super League'.
The 'Super League' aims to establish a new midweek competition formed of twelve of Europe's biggest football clubs.
Adam Best, a contributor to SLIB&W, released the blog's statement today (April 19).
The statement reads: "South London is Black and White fully endorses the inception of a European Super League because we assume football fans will instantly bin elite football and come to Imperial Fields to watch lads play the game as it is supposed to be played- for pleasure, for personal progression, as an escape from the grind of day to day life.
"Elite football is no longer the game of football. It's hyperbusiness for the hyperwealthy, coining off supporters.
"The Super League, and the competition vacuum it is creating, is another nail in the coffin for the elite game.
"The on-pitch product is occasionally gorgeous, but the process is ugly. The greed is ugly. Support your local club."
Tooting & Mitcham United FC will be running 'get active' football sessions with 11 to 13-year-olds every Thursday 5-6pm.
