A woman who regularly walks her dog around Tooting Common was left traumatised yesterday (16th November) after being sexually assaulted by a stranger in broad daylight.

Lydia, 30, Streatham, says she was halfway into the woodland area at around 4pm when a man approached her asking for her name and profusely complimented her.

"I said I had to go and he took hold of my shoulders," Lydia told Nub News.

Lydia says the man proceeded to kiss her neck and face and grab at her bottom.

Fortunately, Lydia says she was able to push the man off just as another man passed by, which caused her attacker to flee in the other direction.

Lydia said: "Its so sad and disappointing that you cant even walk your dog in daylight now."

Thankfully, Lydia was able to get out of the incident safely.

Writing on a popular local social media forum - Lydia warned residents to be careful when walking through the Common alone.

Lydia has described the man as being around six foot tall, wearing jeans, brown boots, a brown leather jacket and a hat.

Tooting Nub News has contacted the police for comment.
