Tooting: Police appeal as man escapes custody after being taken to St George's Hospital following arrest

Merton Police have released an appeal after a man has escaped custody.

Tyrone Attwood, 30, was taken to St George's Hospital with a head injury following his arrest and managed to escape while being returned to custody.

Attwood was arrested for several offences on September 22, including the theft of a motor vehicle.

After being treated at St George's Hospital, he managed to get away from the escorting officer outside of Wandsworth custody centre on foot.

Do you recognise the man photographed? If you are aware of his whereabouts the police have urged that you contact them.

A Merton Police spokesperson said: "On 22/09, Tyrone ATTWOOD aged 30 was arrested for several offences including theft of a motor vehicle.

"Following his arrest he was taken to St George's hospital with a head injury. While being returned to custody after his discharge from hospital, he pulled away from the escorting officer outside Wandsworth custody centre and made off on foot.

"Can you help police find this man?"
