Botanical Plaster Casting Workshop

Casting is an enchanting classical technique which allows you to create a sculptural record of a form. The process of creating a cast develops an awareness of positive and negative space, an appreciation of form and texture, and it ignites excitement as the final cast is revealed.

In this course Poppy will introduce you to the magic of casting. You will be guided through the stages of creating an original composition using found natural materials from Merton's parks; from constructing a mould, to mixing and pouring casting plaster, to create a botanical relief tile.
