Tooting residents have been discussing a truly important question - what is the best Fish and Chip Shop in Tooting?

After many shared opinions, the two most popular choices were Mitcham's Plaice Takeaway and Kennedy's of Tooting.

Do you agree?

Mitcham's Plaice Takeaway

Mitchams's Plaice Takeaway, situated on Mitcham Lane, has been in operation for over ten years.

The popular Fish and Chip Shop has been popular with residents since they first opened.

Owner of the establishment, Huseyin, has been in the business for over twenty years.

The eatery used to serve kebabs but Ottoman Meze & Mangal Kebab was launched next door to give each cuisine its own attention.

One resident said: "Great place, super friendly service and good quality food at a very reasonable price.

"Never disappoints, I have family travel down from East London who always want to order when they come visit."

Kennedy's of Tooting

This popular Fish and Chip Shop also got lots of mentions from Tooting residents.

Just a short stroll away from Tooting Broadway Station, the restaurant begins right at the start of Tooting High Street.

"Making it great for a spot to eat, a night out or in," says Kennedys website.

One resident said: "Kennedys is hands down best for Fish and Chips."

Another resident said: "We've been a couple of times and have always loved it.

"The staff are always so kind and chatty, and the food has always been amazing. The portions are huge too, so it's really worth every penny."
