Tooting: Summerstown has 146 per cent increase in Covid-19 cases as local area sees rise in infections

Coronavirus infections have increased by 10 per cent in Wandsworth, and over 145 per cent in Summerstown, recent statistics reveal.

According to the latest statistics (November 4 - November 10), there are currently 900 people with the virus within Wandsworth Borough - 92 more than the leading up to November 4.

This means there has been an increase of 11.4 per cent, with there being 272.9 cases per 100,000 people as per the Gov.uk website.

Summerstown is the local area that has seen the biggest increase of cases , with 19 new positive tests taking its overall total to 32 (146.2 per cent increase). 408.4 people for every 100,000 have the virus in that area.

Wandsworth also has a higher rate than the average within London. The London rate is currently 250.4, compared to Wandsworth's 272.9 per 100,000.

The Wandsworth infection rate is still less than both England and the United Kingdom, which is 352.5 and 364.6 out of 100,000 people.
