Tooting set for sunnier weekend after prolonged wet period

After a prolonged period of rain and miserable weather, the t-shirts and shorts can come out again this weekend.

While it probably won't be necessary to whack out the factor 50, it looks pretty certain that you won't need the brolly, so make the most of it while you can.

Here's a summary of the forecast for the rest of the week, from the Met Office.

Thursday August 12

Largely fine, with light winds. Dry with warm sunny spells. Most of the day will be cloudy but warm - predicted to be around 21 degrees throughout the day - and then the sun should be coming out just in time for work to finish, with sunny intervals expected from 4pm until the sun drops.

Friday August 13

Pretty similar to Thursday, with a fair bit of cloud cover but next to no chance of rain. Temperatures are set to reach around 22 degrees, however, there will be winds of up to 13mph which will bring the 'feels like temperature' to about 19 degrees.

Saturday August 14

Again, another cloudy day at a warm temperature. Clouds through most of the day, though sunny intervals are expected later on. The wind will also be slightly weaker so it should feel that little bit warmer.

Sunday August 15

Sunday looks to be the pick of the days. It will be sunnier overall, still with some cloud cover, and highs of 22 degrees.

Looks like the sun will be out between 10am and 8pm, albeit hidden behind a little cloud cover for parts of the afternoon.
