Crew Energy are running a Wandsworth Council-funded project called Tooting Energy Advice (TEA).

The project has recently been given a 'substantial grant' by the council to support those in fuel poverty.

The grant is mainly for those struggling in the Tooting Ward but assistance is available for anyone in need across the borough.

Crew are offering free energy advice sessions to anyone in the Tooting Ward on a first come, first served basis.

Paul White, Tooting Ward Councillor, told Nub News:

"They have trained professionals who can speak to people about their fuel problems and offer solutions, such as; switching providers, claiming grants, offering one-off vouchers to cover emergencies and advice on staying out of fuel poverty."

People attending a CREW energy advice session can expect:

• Impartial, confidential advice on how to pay less for your electricity, gas and water

  • Help to apply for any discounts you may be entitled to

• Support to access grants, such as for insulation or boilers

• Assist you in getting free energy and water-saving devices

• Explanations on how to reduce your energy use at home by making your home more energy-efficient

• Signposting where to receive energy and water debt advice

• A one-off prepayment meter voucher for those in an emergency situation

• Tips for everyday energy behaviours that can save you money

• Connecting to other sources of help

A spokesperson for TEA said: "We help families who may be facing choosing between heating and eating or financial hardship, those with long term health conditions and disabilities in particular, and provide personalised advice."

Appointments can be delivered over the phone or via video call, such as Zoom or WhatsApp.

To make an appointment call 0800 086 2706 or email [email protected].

Everyone who has an appointment will be entered into a draw to win £100 worth of 'Love To Shop' vouchers.
