Tooting residents prepare to walk a mile on Global Day of Climate Action

By The Editor 24th Sep 2020

A group of Tooting residents are getting ready to walk a mile through Tooting Bec Common tomorrow to mark the Global Day of Climate Action.

Richard Couldrey and Sophia Parker, two concerned local parents, created #walkamileforclimate to show solidarity for the cause in Tooting.

The guided two lap route around Tooting Bec Common can be done in optional fancy dress or with a placard.

The residents have made it clear that the event is not a march, rally or gathering - and all social distancing should be maintained.

The walk will have a rolling start between 3:30pm and 4:30pm tomorrow evening, meeting at the corner of Huron Road and Elmbourne Road.

Everyone is invited to attend.

'Fridays For Future' will tomorrow (25th) take place all over the world.
