Looking for something to try with your children this weekend? Why not give skateboarding a go?

Take a look at our What's On page to see some of the exciting things happening in the area. You can even advertise your own event for free by clicking the 'Nub It' button.

This week for our Event of the Week, we have group skateboarding lessons for children which are happening with USK8.

The group sessions are at a beginner level designed for children, they happen at Pollard Hill skatepark and last for an hour.

You don't need equipment as it will be provided, though if you have your own then you're welcome to bring it along. The sessions are for children aged five and above.

Here is what the website says about the sessions:

The one hour lesson is designed to help you try out skateboarding or continue to work on your beginning skills.

We aim to teach you the basics of how to get onto a skateboard, push and ride a park independently.

You will share the hour with 9 other students, this is a great way to be social and make new friends within the world of skateboarding. We encourage competition between riders, as this is a great way to improve your own skills!

All Equipment is lent out during our lessons, but you're welcome to bring your own.

Our beginners' lesson is a great way to try out skateboarding without the cost of the equipment.

You are under the keen eye of our trained instructor, who will help correct any bad habits, increase confidence and to guide you through the next steps.

Our instructors are First Aid trained, Enhanced DBS checked, insured, and we are registered as one of Merton Borough's approved trainers.

You can find confidence in Usk8!

Each session costs £14 and you can buy tickets and find out more information on the USK8 website.
