There are more than 100 fewer infections of Covid-19 than a week ago within the borough.

According to the latest statistics (September 26- October 2), there are currently 724 people with the virus within Wandsworth Borough - 102 less than the week leading up to September 26.

This means there has been a decrease of 12.3 per cent, with 219.6 cases per 100,000 people as per the Gov.uk website.

Wimbledon Park and Durnsford Road is the local area that has seen the biggest increase of cases , with 27 new positive tests taking its overall total to 36 (300 per cent increase). 427.6 people for every 100,000 have the virus in that area.

Despite Wandsworth's decrease, it still has a higher rate than the average within London. The London rate is currently 203.5, which is slightly higher than last week.

Nevertheless, the Wandsworth infection rate is still less than both England and the United Kingdom, which is 332.6 and 340.9 out of 100,000 people.
