A 63-year-old was found dead on Church Lane this morning.

Police were called to Tooting at around 6.30am following reports of a man being injured on the street.

After police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene, the man was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious, a Met Police spokesperson confirmed.

Upon the emergency services' arrival, the man was unresponsive.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to Church Lane, SW17 at 6.31am on Friday, 15 October after a man was found lying injured in the street.

"Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and found a 63-year-old man who was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

"His next of kin have been informed."

A witness who lives on Church Lane told MyLondon that they woke up to around three ambulances and the same number of police cars.

She said : "This morning there were around three ambulances and the same number of police cars.

"We were woken up by police ringing the doorbell to ask if we had seen anything."
