This resident is taking a photo of the same avenue in Tooting Common every week for a year

A local Tooting resident is aiming to take a photo of the same avenue down Tooting Bec Common every week for a year.

The Tooting mum of four began the Instagram project after she noticed how 'bare' the avenue looked on her school run.

Talking to Nub News, she said: "Waiting to collect my youngest from school one day the Avenue looked so bare, but I was also aware of how much it changes in Autumn, so decided to document it from the same spot, same time, every Monday, for a year."

The photos, while admittedly a small passion project, have been received positively from local residents - experiencing a section of Tooting Common in a different way than they usually would.

Every photo is uploaded organically with no filter.

The resident continued: "Even from week to week there is a change that I didn't really notice in such detail before.

"I'm not filtering it, not editing, it's an identical snapshot in everything apart from a new week each time.

"I think for me, the changes that happen, even though we've kind of stood still for the past year, make me smile, and realise that nature always does its best, whatever we throw at it.

"We need to appreciate what we have more, not what we want."
